"But I love Eric. There's no one I want to sleep with but Eric," he assured us through tears and sobs as we offered up other stuffed animals and characters in his room. We promised to do our best to get Eric back in the next few days and that he was having a little adventure, looking for deer in New Braunfels.
We immediately got on the phone with our Thanksgiving accommodations coordinator, Uncle Larry, but no one had picked up the Cabbage Patch as we left the condos. The next morning at 8:05 we got a call from Uncle Larry assuring us he was on the case, having already left a message within the first few minutes of the condos being opened for business.
Collin awoke Monday morning, and I assumed he'd be calmer about Eric, but instead his first words to me were in a deep super-hero voice, announcing that Collin was not here, he was in New Braunfels with Uncle Larry finding Eric, and that he in fact was Spider-man.
Thankfully we got the good news a few hours later - Eric had been found! Uncle Larry drove all the way back to NB to speed up Eric's return to us via Fed-Ex overnight! We made it through Monday night and then, Tuesday at 8:15pm, Cas peeked out the door and found the box.
Cas admitted he was so glad he was in town to watch the reunion, and we were both so excited to watch Collin's reaction. The anticipation as we told him there was a box for him -
So excited to see Eric's bald head and blue clothes -
Happy boy!
Hugs for his long lost friend -
The note from "Eric" -
And the video, the funniest part may be the number of camera flashes. We are pathetically dorky parents!
